Marcon were appointed as Principal fit out contractor for the new 10,000 sq ft Blavatnik Art, Film and Photography Galleries located on the 3rd floor within the iconic IMW London.

The new gallery will showcase around 300 visual media collections, spanning the First World War to the present day. It is the UK’s first to explore how artists, photographers and filmmakers, document and tell the story of conflict.

Scope of works included:

  • Demolish works to existing plasterboard walling and back of house ceilings
  • Installation of new fire rated shaft walls & reinstate ceilings
  • Minor removals to existing HVAC infrastructure and supply and install of new mechanical and electrical systems
  • New exhibition walling including steelwork support
  • Decoration works including painting all ceiling services
  • All new joinery items including bespoke plinths, bespoke benches and features to doorways, monitor shrouds, fire rated door sets
  • New floor levelling substrates and new resin, carpet and vinyl floor finishes.
