Hampton Court Palace
Project Overview
Marcon were appointed by Historic Royal Palace’s to deliver the exhibition fit out within the historic Wolsey rooms at Hampton Court Royal Palace. The new exhibition tells the story of the early reign of Henry VIII and the objects and artefacts on display give an inside view of the lives of soldiers, craftsmen, and influencers from Henry’s era.
The project followed a two-stage tender process, with Marcon being engaged early, to work alongside the Client’s team, to provide the build expertise and knowledge to ensure quality within budget restrictions. The second stage incorporated the build.
The exhibition spans 2 floors and is spread across several rooms Ground Floor ‘Exhibition Rooms’: includes a two-room, accessible exhibition space that brings to life the story of Henry VIII’s world, through hands-on displays, AV, reproduction artworks and original historic objects in display cases from HRP’s own collection.
First Floor ‘Gallery Rooms’: a four-room gallery displaying an iconic collection of Tudor art and artefacts in some of the oldest rooms in the palace including famous ‘History paintings’ like The Field of Cloth of Gold.
