GAA Museum, Croke Park
Project Overview
Marcon worked in partnership with hsd to deliver the design and build contract for the redevelopment of exhibition areas within the GAA Museum at Croke Park.
The exhibition celebrates the rich heritage of Gaelic sports and was funded by Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin: Surprising Stories grant stream. The new exhibition transforms the sense of arrival and reveals the most surprising stories in the history of the GAA, providing an impactful and memorable immersive visitor experience for a wide range of audiences, including fans of the games and ‘Culturally Curious’ visitors who come with no pre-existing knowledge of Gaelic games.
The exhibition is split into defined zones and takes visitors on a journey from the ancient origins and early development of the games through to the turbulent times of the War of Independence, all told through a variety of interpretative and immersive features and iconic artefacts.
