Titanic Belfast appointed our team as exhibition fit‑out contractor for Titanic Belfast Curates… NI Fashion and Textiles, a major temporary summer exhibition celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation of Northern Irish fashion and textile design.

Located at the world‑famous site where RMS Titanic was built, the exhibition continues Titanic Belfast’s commitment to delivering world‑class, accessible cultural experiences that resonate with both local and international audiences.

Our commission covered the full design and build of all physical exhibition infrastructure, transforming the client’s initial concept designs into a fully realised, flexible, and reusable exhibition environment within a live public building.

Scope of work

·         The centrepiece of the exhibition is a bespoke fashion catwalk running through the heart of the Andrews Gallery. Designed and built by our team, the catwalk showcases three pieces from each of the four featured designers. Inspired by Belfast’s textile heritage and the historic importance of the River Lagan during the Linenopolis era, the catwalk was developed with a flowing, river‑like form. This sculptural element acts both as a visual anchor for the exhibition and as a symbolic reference to the city’s industrial and creative past.

·         Designer Studio Pods – We designed and constructed four individual designer studio pods, each providing a distinctive yet coherent space to spotlight the work and storytelling of participating designers. These pods were manufactured as modular units to allow flexibility in layout and future reuse.

·         A themed retail concession pop‑up, integrated seamlessly with the overall exhibition aesthetic

·         A bespoke desk and workbench for a live pop‑up design studio, enabling hands‑on engagement and workshops

Complexities

·         The exhibition was entirely temporary and required all structures to be fully moveable, adaptable, and reusable for future exhibitions.

·         Installation had to be delivered within an extremely tight eight‑week programme, from project award to handover.

·         All works were undertaken in a fully operational visitor attraction, with other galleries remaining open to the public throughout.

·         The exhibition needed to balance high visual impact with practical requirements for accessibility, durability, and ongoing operational use

From the outset, close collaboration with Titanic Belfast was central to successfully resolving these challenges.

The Result

Despite the demanding programme and operational constraints, the project was successfully completed on time and on budget. The finished exhibition provides Titanic Belfast with a high‑impact, flexible environment that supports both static displays and live events throughout the summer season.

By delivering reusable, modular structures, the project offers long‑term value beyond the exhibition’s lifespan, supporting future programming and sustainable exhibition practice.
