Founded in 2004 by Mark O’Connor and Mark McElroy. Starting with a workforce of only 5 people, Marcon quickly established itself as one of the UK and Ireland’s leading fit-out specialists.

We open our own specialist joinery workshop which has since grown into a standalone manufacturing space adjacent to Marcon’s Antrim headquarters.

Marcon appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver the specialist fit-out of all nine galleries within the internationally renowned Titanic Belfast.

Marcon receive prestigious awards for the company’s fit-out of the Exhibition & Gallery at Titanic Belfast at the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) Design Partnership Awards. Marcon were delighted with the recognition of this iconic space having designed and built the set works which formed the exhibition structure and route through the galleries at Titanic Belfast^® as well as metal work and solid timber displays for interactive touch screen housings, personal story boards and samples of the Titanic interiors.

Museums + Heritage, often known simply as M+H, is a business that has been at the centre of connecting the world of museums, galleries and heritage visitor attractions since 1991. They shine a spotlight on the people and organisations who connect stories, objects and spaces with audiences, as well as those who support their delivery, such as contractors and consultants.

Marcon are awarded the fit-out of the UK’s first National Landscape Discovery Centre. Situated in the Hadrian’s Wall area of Northumberland National Park, the £14.8 million visitor centre and youth hostel promises to be a visitor attraction like no other and is considered one of the UK’s most significant museum projects of the year.

Our team celebrate 15 years of business and the growth of the company year on year. Now firmly positioned as a leading fit-out and specialist joinery manufacturing business, Marcon continue to deliver innovative, high profile projects across aviation, commercial, hospitality, museum and retail sectors.

Marcon are recognised for green leadership and awarded Gold in the 2020 Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey.

To support growth and continued performance, Marcon open a second office in Leeds, primarily dedicated to servicing projects in Scotland and England.

Marcon receive accreditation to International standards ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 for thorough processes for health and safety; quality and environmental management.

Marcon were the principal contractor responsible for the refurbishment and fit-out of the new 10,000sq ft gallery and worked with project managers Fraser Randall as part of the client team.

Supported by the Blavatnik Family Foundation, the new gallery showcases around 300 visual media collections, spanning the First World War to the present day.  It is the UKs first to explore how artists, photographers and filmmakers, document and tell the story of conflict.

Over the past two decades Marcon has grown from strength to strength and this celebration was a chance to reflect and share stories of the past 20 years and celebrate our success and our achievements together. During this time we have become one of the UK and Ireland’s leading fit-out specialists in the industry.
